Why «meatless» is actually beneficial for the body
Even a few days with plant-based food in the diet give the body an important break. Here is how it works:
- Fiber and digestion. Vegetables, grains, and legumes nourish the microbiome and help the intestines work more easily. By replacing meat with dumplings with potatoes and mushrooms or a vegetable stew, you give the body a useful resource for normal digestive function.
- «Clean» energy. Plant protein and complex carbohydrates are absorbed more slowly, without sharp spikes in sugar and sleepiness after eating. You are full, but still full of energy.
- Reducing the load on the body. Fewer saturated fats from meat, less strain on blood vessels, and a normal cholesterol level. Even one day without meat per week (as it is called «Meatless Monday») has a positive effect on health in the long term.
